The FrSky Taranis X9 Lite ACCESS transmitter merges a portable, classic grip design with modern RF technology. The X9 Lite ACCESS transmitter is natively compatible with all FrSky receivers using the ACCST D16 v2.x and ACCESS protocols, including the included X8R. It can also bind to older ACCST D16 v1.x receivers via a firmware update on the receiver. For legacy ACCST D8 receivers, an external multimodule or a firmware-downgraded external XJT module may be required.

Can I update the firmware wirelessly with ACCESS?

Yes, a key feature of the ACCESS protocol is Wireless Firmware Update (WFU). This allows you to update the firmware of both the internal ISRM-N module in the transmitter and any bound ACCESS-compatible receiver (like an Archer series) over the air, without needing a physical cable connection, provided both devices support the feature.

What type of batteries does the X9 Lite use, and are they included?

The X9 Lite transmitter is designed to use two replaceable 18650 Li-ion batteries with button-top contacts. The batteries are not included in the package. The operating voltage range is 6.0V to 8.4V, making it compatible with standard 2S Li-ion packs or two individual 18650 cells in series.

How do I use the wired trainer function?

Connect a standard 3.5mm mono audio cable from the DSC port on the back of the instructor's transmitter to the DSC port on the student's X9 Lite. Within the OpenTX/ErskyTX model setup menu on the instructor's radio, you can configure the trainer mode to send specific channels or full control to the student's transmitter, allowing for instant instructor takeover if needed.
