Description
The Waveshare IMX462-99 IR-CUT Camera is engineered for demanding embedded vision tasks where lighting conditions are variable or poor. Its core is the 1/2.8-inch Sony IMX462 STARVIS sensor, which utilizes back-illuminated pixel technology to achieve high quantum efficiency. This allows the module to capture detailed 1920×1080 video at up to 30fps even in starlight environments, making it ideal for surveillance, wildlife monitoring, and IoT sensing.
Beyond the sensor, the module incorporates a robust image processing pipeline. The onboard ISP manages critical functions like auto-exposure, auto white balance, and spatial-temporal noise reduction, offloading these tasks from the host processor. The mechanical IR-CUT filter is key to its day/night operation, physically moving to block infrared light during the day for true color and allowing it in at night for maximum scene illumination with IR LEDs. The fixed-focus F1.0 lens ensures high light intake and a consistent depth of field.
