Description

The EDATEC THSER101 MIPI Camera Extension Kit is a hardware solution designed to physically separate a Raspberry Pi camera module from its host computer. It consists of a transmit board connected to the camera and a receiving board connected to the Raspberry Pi’s CSI-2 port, linked by up to 20 meters of CAT5e cable. The kit utilizes THine’s V-by-One® HS serial link technology, which is pre-configured to handle the MIPI CSI-2 camera interface, ensuring a stable, high-bandwidth connection that appears transparent to the system.

This extension is ideal for applications where the camera must be mounted remotely from the processing unit, such as in enclosures, on robotic arms, or for surveillance. The kit maintains signal integrity over extended distances without requiring changes to the Raspberry Pi’s software stack or camera drivers, functioning as if the camera were directly connected to the CSI-2 port.
