Description
The Waveshare IMX335 USB Camera (B) integrates a high-performance 1/2.8-inch Sony STARVIS CMOS sensor, engineered for superior image quality in variable lighting conditions. Its back-illuminated pixel structure and 71.6 dB wide dynamic range enable clear detail capture in both highlight and shadow regions, making it exceptionally capable for security and outdoor IoT deployments. The module outputs uncompressed YVY2 or motion-JPEG streams via a standard USB 2.0 interface, ensuring compatibility with common embedded Linux platforms and vision processing frameworks like OpenCV.
Housed within a compact 25x24mm board, the camera is paired with a wide 175° diagonal field-of-view M12 mount lens, constructed with 5 glass and 3 plastic elements plus an IR cut filter. This fixed-focus optical assembly provides consistent focus from 50cm to infinity, minimizing calibration overhead. The combination of low-light optimized sensor, wide-angle lens, and industrial-grade operating temperature range (-10°C to 60°C) makes this module a versatile choice for developers building smart surveillance systems, drone FPV, robotics perception, and industrial machine vision applications.
