Description

The Arducam Camera Module 3 integrates a premium Sony IMX708 image sensor, a 1/2.43-inch optical format back-illuminated stacked CMOS, engineered for embedded vision on the Raspberry Pi platform. It delivers 12-megapixel stills with high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), supported by hardware HDR mode that enables clear output in challenging lighting conditions. The module’s Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) system and integrated 2D Defect Pixel Correction (DPC) ensure fast, accurate focus and clean image data for applications requiring reliable visual input.

Designed for seamless system integration, this camera is natively supported by the Raspberry Pi’s libcamera software stack, allowing developers to capture images and video via standard command-line tools or custom Python scripts without proprietary drivers. Its compact form factor and included dual FPC flex cables (15-22pin and 22-22pin) provide flexible mounting options for Raspberry Pi 3, 4 A/B, and Zero boards, making it ideal for space-constrained IoT projects, smart security systems, and educational computer vision kits.
