Description
The Orbbec Persee 2 merges a high-performance 3D depth camera with a capable embedded computer into a single, compact device. Its core is built around active stereo infrared technology, enhanced by Orbbec’s proprietary depth-processing ASIC. This hardware combination delivers dense, accurate depth point clouds at VGA resolution and 30 frames per second, suitable for real-time spatial perception tasks.
At its computational heart is the Amlogic A311D System-on-Chip, featuring a hexa-core ARM CPU, a Mali-G52 GPU, and a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU). This allows the Persee 2 to perform complex vision algorithms, object detection, and segmentation directly on the edge without relying on cloud connectivity. The device supports both Android and Linux, offering developers a choice of mature SDKs, libraries like OpenCV, and frameworks such as TensorFlow Lite or PyTorch for streamlined AI pipeline development.
Designed for industrial and commercial deployment, the unit provides a rich set of physical interfaces including Gigabit Ethernet for stable network communication, USB for peripherals, HDMI for local display, and expansion via MicroSD. Its integrated IMU adds a layer of contextual motion data, making it ideal for robotics, interactive installations, and automated monitoring systems where understanding both environment and device movement is critical.
