The Pimoroni Pico Audio Pack is designed to bring robust audio functionality to your Raspberry Pi Pico projects. Utilizing a high-quality PCM5100A I2S DAC, this add-on board delivers up to 32-bit, 384KHz stereo audio. It offers dual output options: a 3.5mm line-out connector for unamplified audio, ideal for connecting to external amplifiers or powered speakers, and a 3.5mm headphone jack that provides amplified stereo sound through its integrated PAM8908JER headphone amplifier, featuring a switch for gain adjustment (low/high).

This versatile audio pack enables a range of creative applications, from generating unique noises for lo-fi synthesizers to transforming your Pico into a custom USB sound card when paired with another device. It’s also perfect for adding sound effects or short audio clips to embedded projects. While I2S audio for Pico/RP2040 is not currently supported in MicroPython, it is fully compatible with CircuitPython, offering developers a flexible platform for audio experimentation.
