Description

The Geekworm X1301 HDMI to CSI-2 Shield is a purpose-built accessory for Raspberry Pi boards, facilitating the connection of external HDMI devices to the Pi’s camera serial interface. Powered by the Toshiba TC358743XBG bridge chip and an active HDMI splitter, it efficiently converts HDMI signals up to 1080P at 60 frames per second into the MIPI CSI-2 format compatible with the Raspberry Pi.

A standout feature of the X1301 is its HDMI Pass-Through capability. This allows the incoming HDMI signal (audio/video) to be simultaneously outputted to an external TV or projector for local monitoring, even when the Raspberry Pi is in standby mode. This is particularly useful for debugging, live display alongside processing, or integrating with existing home entertainment systems.

Designed for ease of use, the shield is stackable, enabling integration with other HATs. It supports 4 MIPI CSI-2 data lanes at speeds up to 1 Gbps per lane and transmits HDMI audio via I²S. The X1301 also prevents HDMI backpowering to the Raspberry Pi CSI, ensuring system stability, and is compatible with the HAT+ STANDBY power state for the Raspberry Pi 5.
