Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W

The Pico 2 W upgrades to dual 150MHz Arm Cortex-M33 cores and adds dual RISC-V Hazard3 cores. This significantly boosts computational power and enables more efficient parallel processing compared to the previous dual Cortex-M0+ architecture. It's designed for more demanding applications.

It integrates the CYW43439 module, offering 2.4GHz 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2 for robust wireless communication. For security, it incorporates Arm TrustZone for Cortex-M, providing hardware-enforced protection, crucial for IoT and secure embedded applications.

The Pico 2 W is expected to be compatible with the standard Pico SDK, MicroPython, and CircuitPython, similar to its predecessor. Developers can leverage familiar tools and extensive documentation, along with potential new features tailored for the RP2350A SoC, enabling rapid development.

The Pico 2 W features 520KB of RAM, doubling the capacity of the original Pico W. It also includes 4MB of QSPI Flash storage, which is ample for larger programs, complex data sets, and wireless firmware, supporting more sophisticated embedded projects.

While the Pico 2 W maintains a similar form factor to the Pico W, specific pinout changes or power requirements of the new RP2350A SoC might require verification. Many general-purpose accessories should remain compatible, but dedicated Pico 2 W shields or specific HATs may emerge to leverage its full capabilities.
