The Winsen MP-3B alcohol gas sensor employs a metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) sensing principle. Its construction features a miniature Al2O3 ceramic substrate coated with a sensitive material, a micro-heater, and electrodes, all housed within a protective metal cap. When exposed to alcohol vapor, the sensor’s conductivity increases proportionally with the gas concentration, allowing for detection through a straightforward external circuit.
This module is engineered for reliable performance in detecting ethanol steam, offering fast response and recovery times alongside excellent long-term stability. Its compact form factor and low power consumption make it suitable for integration into portable or fixed-point monitoring systems.
