Description
This Waveshare development board centers on the RP2350 microcontroller, a unique dual-architecture chip featuring both ARM Cortex-M33 and RISC-V cores. This design offers flexibility in task allocation between cores, supporting clock speeds up to 150 MHz for handling demanding graphical interfaces and real-time sensor data processing. The board is engineered specifically for Human-Machine Interface (HMI) projects, providing the necessary hardware to build responsive, visually rich embedded applications.
The integrated 1.43-inch AMOLED display delivers high contrast and wide viewing angles, communicating via an SPI interface. The capacitive touch layer, managed over I2C, includes interrupt support for efficient UI interaction. For system context, the onboard QMI8658 inertial measurement unit provides 6-axis motion data for gesture recognition or activity tracking, while the dedicated RTC chip maintains accurate time during sleep or power-off states when connected to a backup battery. The comprehensive I/O set, including USB-C for direct programming and a microSD card slot for asset storage, makes this a complete platform for developing portable, sensor-driven devices with graphical feedback.
