Description
This Waveshare development board combines a vivid 3.16-inch tall-format LCD with the robust ESP32-S3 wireless microcontroller, creating a complete platform for Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and embedded GUI projects. The ESP32-S3R8 delivers dual-core processing at up to 240MHz alongside integrated 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, managed via an onboard PCB antenna with an option for an external antenna.
Memory architecture is tailored for graphics-intensive applications, featuring 16MB of external Flash for program storage and 8MB of PSRAM for frame buffering and dynamic data. The board includes a QMI8658 inertial measurement unit for motion detection and a PCF85063 real-time clock with a backup battery header, enabling precise timing and low-power sleep/wake cycles. Power is supplied via the USB Type-C port or a 3.7V Li-ion battery, with a slide switch for controlled power management.
