Description
The Raspberry Pi Zero W builds upon the ultra-compact Pi Zero with a significant upgrade: integrated 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN and Bluetooth 4.1 with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). This integrated connectivity, powered by the BCM43143 chip similar to the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, eliminates the need for external USB Wi-Fi or Bluetooth dongles, streamlining project designs and reducing clutter. Its inclusion makes the Zero W a highly versatile choice for network-dependent embedded systems and IoT applications.
Maintaining the same tiny form factor, connections, and mounting holes as the Pi Zero v1.3, the Zero W ensures broad compatibility with existing accessories, enclosures, and HATs. It features a 1 GHz single-core ARM1176JZF-S CPU, 512MB of LPDDR2 SDRAM, a micro SD card slot for the operating system, a mini HDMI port for video output, and two micro USB ports (one for power, one for USB On-The-Go data). These specifications, combined with its miniature size, make it an ideal choice for projects where space and power efficiency are critical.
