Description

The Secure AVR BLE IoT Node is a comprehensive hardware platform designed for developing authenticated, low-power Bluetooth IoT endpoints. It combines Microchip Technology’s ATtiny1617 microcontroller with a pre-certified RN4871 BLE 4.2 module, enabling rapid wireless connectivity integration. The inclusion of the ATECC508A secure element provides a foundation for implementing hardware-based cryptographic security for device identity, authentication, and data protection, which is critical for commercial IoT deployments.

The board is equipped with a MEMS 3-axis accelerometer and temperature sensor, making it suitable for motion-tracking and environmental monitoring applications. Development is streamlined through the Atmel START configurator and Atmel Studio IDE, offering code generation and debugging support. Its dual power supply from USB or a coin cell battery facilitates both prototyping and field deployment of battery-operated sensor nodes.
