The M5 Stack Earth Moisture Sensor operates on a resistive sensing principle. Its two exposed conductive pads act as probes, forming a variable resistor whose value decreases with increasing soil moisture content. This change in resistance is converted into a corresponding analog voltage signal for precise ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) reading, while the digital output provides a clean high/low signal based on a user-defined threshold.
Engineered for reliability in embedded and IoT applications, the unit includes signal conditioning onboard. The integrated Grove connector ensures robust communication and power delivery, making it ideal for rapid prototyping and deployment in automated agricultural or environmental monitoring systems without complex wiring.
