Description
The HM-10 BLE module is a fully encapsulated wireless transceiver built around the Texas Instruments CC2541 system-on-chip, implementing the Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy standard. It serves as a serial-to-wireless bridge, allowing any microcontroller with a UART interface to communicate bi-directionally with BLE-capable host devices like smartphones, tablets, or gateways. The module’s architecture is optimized for minimal external component count and simplified integration.
Power management is central to its design, supporting dynamic power adjustment via AT commands and featuring an ultra-low power standby mode to conserve energy in battery-operated IoT nodes. The built-in PCB antenna and GFSK modulation in the 2.4GHz ISM band provide a robust RF link. Its programmability extends to I/O expansion, offering analog-to-digital conversion and pulse-width modulation channels directly controllable from a connected host, making it suitable for more than just data passthrough.
