The KSD9700/BK05-BB1D is a bimetallic disc-type thermal protector housed in a metallic shell for optimal heat transfer and mechanical strength. The switch operates on a snap-action principle: when the ambient temperature reaches its factory-calibrated trip point of 145°C, the bimetallic disc deforms, instantly opening the circuit to cut off power and prevent overheating.
This device is designed for automatic reset; once the temperature cools below the reset threshold (typically 10-20°C below the trip point), the contacts reclose, restoring normal operation. Its 5A/250V AC rating allows it to be wired directly into mains-powered circuits, providing a simple, reliable, and cost-effective solution for thermal protection without requiring external signal conditioning.
