The Micropilot FMR30B utilizes 80 GHz frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar technology for precise, non-contact level measurement, unaffected by dust, vapor, or changing process conditions. Its high frequency enables a focused beam for reliable performance in vessels with internal obstructions or in applications with low dielectric media.
The transmitter operates on a standard 12–30 VDC 2-wire loop, delivering a 4–20mA analog signal proportional to the measured level, while the embedded HART protocol allows for digital parameterization, diagnostics, and communication alongside the analog signal. The robust PBT/PC housing and IP66/67 rating ensure long-term reliability in outdoor and washdown environments.
