The Adafruit MLX90632 module integrates the Melexis MLX90632SLD-DCB sensor, a factory-calibrated far-infrared thermopile designed for medical-grade precision. It measures object temperature via passive infrared radiation detection, making it ideal for non-invasive monitoring of sensitive, moving, or electrically isolated targets. The sensor’s 50° field of view ensures accurate readings at close proximity.
The board includes full signal conditioning, voltage regulation, and I2C level shifting, providing a robust interface for embedded systems. It outputs both object and ambient temperature readings directly via I2C, requiring minimal microcontroller processing. This module is engineered for reliable performance in healthcare devices, industrial equipment monitoring, and IoT applications where contactless sensing is critical.
