Generic Tilt Switch Sensor Module for Arduino - Digital Output
This Tilt Switch Sensor Module provides a simple digital output for detecting orientation changes, compatible with 5V microcontrollers like Arduino. It uses a ball-type mechanical switch to complete a circuit when tilted beyond a threshold angle.
Features
- 5V DC operating voltage compatible with Arduino and other 5V logic systems.
- Digital switch output provides a clean HIGH/LOW signal for easy microcontroller interfacing.
- Compact FR4 PCB design measuring 25mm x 15mm for space-constrained applications.
- Integrated status LED illuminates when the internal tilt switch is activated.
- Mechanical ball-type switch offers a simple, reliable method for basic tilt detection.

The Tilt Switch Sensor Module is a fundamental orientation detection component built around a mechanical ball switch. When the module is tilted, a conductive metal ball rolls to bridge internal contacts, closing the circuit and pulling the digital output pin low (or high, depending on configuration). This provides a straightforward binary indication of tilt status.
The module includes signal conditioning circuitry on an FR4 PCB, translating the raw switch closure into a clean digital signal suitable for direct connection to a microcontroller’s GPIO pin. Its simple operation makes it ideal for basic projects requiring non-critical angle detection, such as orientation alarms, simple leveling indicators, or basic robotic posture sensing.
