SW-520D Vibration Sensor Tilt Switch Module - Pack of 2
The SW-520D is a simple, robust metal ball tilt switch module ideal for basic orientation and vibration detection in Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontroller projects. It functions as a normally-open switch that closes when tilted with the leads pointing down, providing a digital on/off signal.
Features
- Simple Normally-Open Tilt Switch: Closes circuit when oriented with leads pointing downwards.
- Robust Construction: Sealed in shrink tubing to prevent short circuits and ensure durability.
- Low-Power Operation: Maximum current rating of 30mA, suitable for direct MCU input.
- Wide Temperature Range: Operates reliably from -40°C to +80°C.
- Compact Form Factor: Small 13.2mm length with 2.54mm pitch spacing for easy PCB integration.

The SW-520D tilt switch utilizes a conductive metal ball within a sealed tube. When the module is oriented so its leads point downward, the ball rolls onto two internal contact poles, closing the circuit and acting as a simple mechanical switch. This provides a straightforward digital signal for detecting tilt, vibration, or basic orientation changes without the complexity of an analog accelerometer.
Designed for reliability in varied environments, the module is insulated with heat-shrink tubing and rated for an extended operational life. Its simple on/off output makes it compatible with any digital input pin on platforms like Arduino, ESP32, or industrial PLCs, requiring minimal signal conditioning.
