Generic Thermoelectric Peltier Refrigeration System - 12V 6A Cooling Module
This 12V DC thermoelectric Peltier refrigeration system is a solid-state cooling module designed for electronics cooling, small-scale refrigeration, and thermal management projects. It integrates a TEC1-12706-style Peltier element between two heat sinks with an active fan, suitable for integration with 12V power supplies and microcontroller-based temperature control systems.
Features
- 12V DC operating voltage with 6A current draw for robust cooling power.
- Solid-state Peltier (TEC) module sandwiched between dual heat sinks for efficient thermal transfer.
- Integrated cooling fan acts as a radiator on the hot-side heat sink for active heat dissipation.
- Compact 80x80x80 mm metal and plastic construction for space-constrained installations.
- Designed for applications like mini-refrigerators, pet coolers, and electronic component cooling.

This thermoelectric refrigeration system utilizes the Peltier effect to create a solid-state heat pump. When DC power is applied, heat is transferred from one side of the semiconductor module to the other, creating a cold side and a hot side. The integrated aluminum heat sinks and axial fan work in tandem to maximize heat dissipation from the hot side, thereby enhancing the cooling efficiency on the cold side.
The module’s construction combines a metal frame for structural integrity with plastic components for electrical insulation and fan mounting. It is a complete, pre-assembled cooling unit requiring only a 12V power connection, making it suitable for DIY cooling projects, prototype enclosures, and small-scale thermal management systems where compressor-based refrigeration is impractical.
