Generic Double Speed Measuring Module Encoder Photoelectric Pulse Output Module - TTL Level A/B Output, 100kHz
The Double Speed Measuring Module is a photoelectric encoder interface designed for 5V logic systems (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32) to measure rotational speed via a slotted disc encoder. It provides dual-channel TTL-level pulse outputs (A and B) for direction sensing and high-resolution speed measurement.
Features
- Dual-channel TTL-level pulse output (A & B) for direction and speed detection
- High measurement frequency up to 100 kHz for precise RPM tracking
- Wide operating voltage range of 4.5V to 5.5V DC for 5V microcontroller compatibility
- Includes 24mm diameter encoder disc with 4mm inner bore for TT motor shafts
- Compact module design with screw terminals for easy integration

This photoelectric speed measuring module converts the rotation of a slotted encoder disc into clean, TTL-level digital pulses. It employs an infrared LED transmitter and phototransistor receiver pair to detect interruptions in the light path caused by the disc’s slots, generating corresponding A and B phase signals. The dual-channel output allows for not only speed calculation but also direction of rotation detection, essential for motor control and positioning feedback.
Engineered for a 5V logic environment, the module features a robust design with a 100 kHz maximum frequency response, enabling high-speed rotational measurements. It is supplied with a 24mm diameter encoder disc featuring a 4mm D-shaped bore, making it directly compatible with common TT gearmotor output shafts. The module’s output is directly readable by microcontrollers for real-time speed monitoring in robotics, CNC, and automation projects.
