The HLK-LD2402 utilizes advanced 24GHz Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar technology combined with a proprietary AIoT sensor SoC. This enables it to distinguish between gross motion, subtle micro-motions (like breathing), and static human presence by analyzing the phase and frequency shifts of the reflected radar signal. The onboard firmware handles complex signal processing, converting raw radar data into actionable detection events.
Designed for indoor smart applications, the sensor offers high configurability. Users can adjust detection sensitivity, trigger thresholds, and hold times for different distance intervals via UART commands. Its low average current consumption (~50 mA) and robust millimeter-wave operation make it suitable for always-on, privacy-sensitive applications where camera-based solutions are impractical.
