The Crowtail- IR Receiver 2.0 module is designed for decoding signals from infrared remote controls. Its core component, the HS0038B, integrates a photodiode, a pre-amplifier, and an internal bandpass filter tuned to 38kHz. This design effectively rejects continuous ambient light and electrical noise, allowing it to detect only the modulated IR pulses used by standard remote protocols.
The module outputs a clean, demodulated digital signal directly to a microcontroller’s input pin, simplifying the process of reading and decoding common IR command sets like NEC, Sony SIRC, and RC-5. Its compact PCB and standardized Crowtail edge connector facilitate rapid integration into prototyping projects and embedded systems requiring remote control functionality.
