The GB20-T48 is designed for dual-voltage operation and is compatible with both 12V DC and 24V DC power supplies. Ensure your power source can provide the required quiescent current (≤170mA) and is stable within the specified voltage range for reliable performance.

The sensor includes integrated cables: the emitter has a 0.3M pigtail plus a 3M cable, and the receiver has a 0.3M pigtail plus a 7m cable. These cables terminate in connectors for linking to your control system. Typically, you connect the power supply (12/24V DC and GND) and the output signal wires (often a relay or solid-state output) according to the provided wiring diagram to interface with your machine's safety controller.

A 20mm pitch means the centers of adjacent infrared beams are spaced 20mm apart. With 48 beams over a 940mm height, this creates a dense detection curtain. It can detect objects as small as 32mm in diameter, providing high-resolution protection suitable for preventing finger or hand access to dangerous machinery zones.

With an IP64 rating, the GB20-T48 is protected against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction. It is suitable for damp industrial indoor environments but is not rated for submersion or prolonged exposure to direct, high-pressure water jets. For outdoor use, additional protective housing from the elements is recommended.

The sensor has a very fast response time of 10 milliseconds (ms) from beam interruption to output signal change. This rapid response is critical in safety applications to ensure the machine's stopping time, combined with the sensor's response, meets the required safety distance calculations (as per standards like ISO 13855) to prevent injury.
