Figaro Engineering TGS2610-C00 LP Gas Sensor - TO-5 Metal Can
The Figaro Engineering TGS2610-C00 is a metal-oxide semiconductor (MOS) gas sensor designed for detecting liquefied petroleum (LP) gases like butane and propane. It operates on a 5V DC heater circuit and is housed in a standard TO-5 metal can package, making it suitable for integration into portable gas leak detectors and safety monitors.
Features
- High-sensitivity MOS sensor optimized for LP gas (butane, propane) detection.
- Low power consumption with a 5.0V ±0.2V DC heater voltage and ~280mW power draw.
- Quick response time and long operational life in a compact TO-5 metal can package.
- Simple interface requiring a variable load resistance (minimum 0.45 kΩ).
- Complies with performance standards for gas detection equipment (UL1484, EN50194).

The TGS2610-C00 utilizes a miniaturized metal-oxide semiconductor (MOS) sensing element. When exposed to target combustible gases, the sensor’s resistance changes proportionally to the gas concentration. This change is measured across an external load resistor to generate a readable signal. The integrated heater stabilizes the sensing element at its optimal operating temperature for consistent performance.
Housed in a robust TO-5 metal can, the sensor is designed for durability and stable gas response in typical environmental conditions (20°C ±2°C, 65% ±5% RH). Its low heater current requirement (56 mA ±5 mA) makes it ideal for battery-powered or low-power embedded systems, including portable gas leak checkers and fixed-point safety monitors.
