Nova Sensor PM Sensor SDS011 High Precision Laser PM2.5/PM10 Air Quality Detection Sensor - UART/PWM Output
The Nova Sensor SDS011 is a high-precision laser particulate matter sensor designed for air quality monitoring, providing direct digital output of PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations via UART or PWM interfaces. It is compatible with 5V systems like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and industrial controllers for integration into environmental monitoring networks.
Features
- Laser scattering principle for precise PM2.5 & PM10 concentration measurement from 0.0 to 999.9 µg/m³.
- Dual digital output via UART serial protocol (9600 bps) and two configurable PWM channels for flexible system integration.
- High Particle diameter resolution of less than 0.3 µm ensures detection of fine particulate matter.
- Built-in fan ensures stable airflow and reliable, consistent sampling in dynamic environments.
- Low-power sleep mode (2 mA) and a fast 1-second response time for efficient, real-time monitoring applications.

The Nova Sensor SDS011 particulate matter sensor employs a laser scattering detection principle to accurately measure airborne Particle concentrations within a diameter range of 0.3 to 10 micrometers. The sensor’s internal fan draws a consistent air sample across the laser path, where scattered light is analyzed to calculate mass concentrations of PM2.5 and PM10.
It outputs processed digital data directly via a serial UART interface at 9600 baud, eliminating the need for external analog signal conditioning. The sensor is engineered for stable operation across an industrial temperature range of -20°C to 55°C, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor environmental monitoring systems, including HVAC control, smart purifiers, and data-logging stations.
