The RunCam Night Cam Prototype integrates a high-sensitivity 1/1.8″ image sensor engineered to capture clear, detailed footage in extremely low-light conditions. This makes it an ideal candidate for FPV drones engaged in nighttime surveillance, wildlife monitoring, or security patrols where ambient light is minimal. The camera’s optical system utilizes a wide-angle lens with a 133° diagonal field of view, providing comprehensive situational awareness for the pilot.
Output is delivered as 2.7K resolution MP4 video, with an adaptive frame rate ranging from 3 to 30 frames per second to optimize recording based on light levels and motion. The unit is designed for straightforward integration into UAV systems, requiring only a 5V DC power supply via a Molex 2P 1.25mm connector and communicating through a modern USB Type-C port for data transfer and potential configuration.
