Description
The ESP-01 is a foundational ESP8266-based Wi-Fi module that packages the full capabilities of the popular chip into a minimal footprint. It integrates a 32-bit Tensilica processor, RF front-end, power management, and 1MB of flash, serving as either a network co-processor handling all Wi-Fi connectivity via AT commands or as a standalone application processor running custom firmware.
Designed for low external component count, the module includes an onboard TR switch, balun, LNA, power amplifier, and matching network, requiring minimal supporting circuitry. Its serial UART interface allows for straightforward integration with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or other microcontrollers, enabling rapid prototyping of IoT devices, sensors, and smart home nodes.
