Description

The Digilent MCC USB-2001-TC is a dedicated data acquisition module designed for high-accuracy thermocouple temperature measurement. Its core is a 20-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that processes signals from supported thermocouple types, delivering reliable data at a 4 S/s sample rate. The device incorporates a built-in cold junction compensation (CJC) sensor to correct for ambient temperature effects at the connection terminal, a critical feature for maintaining measurement integrity.

Engineered for diagnostic robustness, the module includes an open-thermocouple detection (OTD) circuit. This system actively monitors the input channel for open-circuit conditions, driving the input outside the normal thermocouple voltage range to trigger a software-readable “OTD” status.
