Description

The Waveshare MLX90640 integrates a Melexis MLX90640 far-infrared thermal sensor array into a compact, host-agnostic module. It captures a 32×24 pixel grid of IR data, which is processed via I2C to generate surface temperature maps and thermal images. An onboard voltage level translator ensures seamless compatibility with both 3.3V and 5V microcontroller and single-board computer systems.

Designed for low-power embedded vision, the module features a programmable refresh rate and a wide field of view, making it suitable for dynamic thermal monitoring. Its small form factor and standard 4-pin PH2.0 connector facilitate easy integration into prototypes and industrial enclosures for real-time temperature analysis and non-contact sensing applications.
