Description

The OpenMV Ultra Wide Angle Lens is an optical accessory designed to significantly increase the situational awareness of OpenMV camera-based systems. By replacing the standard 70° FOV lens, it provides a near-100-degree horizontal view, enabling a single camera to monitor an entire room or wide area without requiring panoramic mounting setups. This is particularly advantageous for embedded computer vision tasks like security monitoring, motion detection via frame differencing, and object tracking in constrained spaces.

Engineered with a fast F2.0 aperture and a 1.7mm focal length, the lens maintains good light gathering capability for the 1/2.5″ sensor format common in OpenMV cameras. The integrated 650nm IR cut filter is user-removable, allowing developers to switch between standard RGB imaging and near-infrared (NIR) applications.
