Description
The Arducam 8MP IMX219 Camera Module is engineered as a high-performance imaging solution for Raspberry Pi single-board computers. It features the Sony IMX219 8-megapixel sensor, known for its 1.12 µm pixel size and 1/4″ optical format, which provides a substantial upgrade in resolution and image quality over earlier camera modules. The integrated ultra-wide-angle M12 lens with a 175-degree diagonal field of view captures expansive scenes, making it suitable for surveillance, environmental monitoring, and robotics applications where a broad perspective is critical.
Designed for seamless integration, the module connects directly to the Raspberry Pi’s Camera Serial Interface (CSI) port via flexible printed circuit (FPC) cables. The package includes both standard and Zero-specific cables, ensuring compatibility across the entire Raspberry Pi ecosystem. Its manual focus M12 lens mount allows for precise focal adjustment, while the integral IR-cut filter ensures accurate color reproduction under visible light. This combination of a high-resolution sensor and wide-angle optics makes it a versatile tool for developers and makers building advanced computer vision, time-lapse, or security systems.
