The WIZnet W5100S-EVB-Pico serves as a comprehensive microcontroller evaluation board, leveraging the powerful Raspberry Pi RP2040 alongside the WIZnet W5100S, an entirely hardwired TCP/IP controller. This integration essentially replicates the functionality of a standard Raspberry Pi Pico board, while augmenting it with robust Ethernet capabilities for network-enabled applications.
At its core, the board features the RP2040 microcontroller, boasting a dual Arm Cortex-M0+ core clocked at up to 133MHz, designed for high-performance and power efficiency. It includes 264KB of multi-bank high-performance SRAM and 2MB of external Quad-SPI Flash with eXecute In Place (XIP) support. The RP2040’s rich peripheral set, complemented by its Programmable I/O (PIO) subsystem, provides flexible, user-programmable high-speed I/O suitable for emulating various interfaces.
