Description
The DFRobot PiTray mini provides a neat and budget-friendly solution for Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4) applications. It leverages the CM4’s eMMC storage capabilities for reliable and fast disk I/O, making it ideal for both solo setups and cluster applications. For CM4 variants without Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, this design further enhances energy efficiency, allowing the operating system to conserve resources.
Designed as an excellent starter kit, the PiTray mini includes an eMMC boot switch, significantly simplifying the process of flashing OS images to eMMC-equipped CM4 modules. It also features a micro SD card socket to support CM4 Lite versions. While it omits less frequently used interfaces like DSI, CSI, audio jack, and USB 3.0 to maintain its compact, business card-sized footprint, it retains crucial full-size HDMI, one USB 2.0, and standard HAT connectors.
This minimalist yet functional approach makes the PiTray mini a sufficient and economical choice for HTPC builders, RetroPie enthusiasts, and general Raspberry Pi users, delivering a similar experience to the Raspberry Pi Model B while utilizing the powerful CM4.
