Description
The Arduino Pro Mini is engineered for projects demanding a compact footprint and efficient power consumption. This iteration of the Pro Mini operates at 3.3V with an 8MHz clock speed, leveraging the ATmega328 microcontroller. Its minimalist design omits pre-populated headers, offering developers the flexibility to solder custom connectors or wires according to specific project requirements. This makes it particularly suited for integration into finished products or space-constrained enclosures.
Designed with cost-efficiency in mind, the board utilizes surface-mount components and a two-layer PCB. It features an onboard voltage regulator, allowing it to accept a wide DC input range from 3.3V up to 12V through the ‘RAW’ pin. Connectivity for programming and debugging is facilitated via external FTDI Basic Breakout boards, which enable auto-reset functionality. While compatible with FTDI cables, the auto-reset feature is unavailable due to pin differences.
The 3.3V logic level eliminates the need for external interfacing circuitry when connecting to many popular 3.3V sensors, GPS modules, and accelerometers, simplifying integration and reducing overall component count in embedded systems. It includes essential Power and Status LEDs for immediate feedback during development.
