Description
The Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W with Header is a compact and versatile microcontroller board centered around the advanced RP2350 microcontroller. This powerful chip features dual-core processing, selectable between 32-bit Arm Cortex-M33 or dual open-hardware Hazard3 RISC-V cores, both capable of running at up to 150 MHz. Onboard, it provides 520KB of SRAM and 4MB of QSPI flash, offering substantial memory for embedded code, data, and necessary wireless firmware. Integrated 2.4 GHz 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, complete with an on-board antenna, facilitate out-of-the-box support for networked and IoT applications.
The Pico 2 W offers extensive interfacing flexibility through its 26 multifunction 3.3V GPIO pins, including several with ADC capabilities. Peripheral support covers common protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, PWM, PIO, and USB 1.1 (operating in both host and device modes), allowing seamless integration with a variety of sensors, displays, and other external components. This version comes with pre-soldered headers, ensuring it is ready for immediate use with breadboards and other prototyping setups. Furthermore, the board incorporates advanced security features like Arm TrustZone, secure boot with OTP key storage, SHA-256 acceleration, and hardware mitigations, making it suitable for professional embedded systems requiring robust protection. It also maintains full hardware and software compatibility with the previous Raspberry Pi Pico series, ensuring a smooth transition for existing projects.
