Description
The pcDuino3B is engineered as a high-performance, cost-effective single board computer designed to meet the demands of the open-source community. At its core, it features an AllWinner A20 dual-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor paired with 1GB of DDR3 RAM, enabling it to efficiently run operating systems like Ubuntu Linux and Android. Visual output is managed through an HDMI interface, capable of driving a graphical desktop and supporting multi-format 1080p 60fps video decoding, alongside 1080p 30fps H.264 and MPEG4 video encoding via its dedicated hardware video processing engine.
This board offers flexible storage options, including 4GB of onboard NAND Flash and a microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB for OS booting or memory expansion, complemented by a SATA host socket for connecting SSDs or hard drives. A key advantage of the pcDuino3B is its 100% compatibility with original Arduino shields, providing a familiar expansion ecosystem for makers and developers. It exposes a full set of Arduino UNO slots, including 14x GPIO, 2x PWM, 6x ADC, 1x UART, 1x SPI, and 1x I2C. The inclusion of 6 analog inputs/outputs distinguishes it from many other SBCs, broadening its utility for sensor integration and data acquisition. For software development, the board supports C/C++ with GNU toolchain, Java with the Android SDK, and Python, with the Arduino IDE and SCRATCH programming language preinstalled to facilitate an accessible entry point into electronics and coding for beginners and educational settings. The built-in USB OTG interface allows for headless operation, enabling remote desktop access from a connected PC via VNC for streamlined control in embedded applications.
