The Grove TMG39931 sensor module is based on the TMG39931 IC, providing a comprehensive optical sensing solution in a single package. It utilizes an integrated IR LED and four directional photodiodes to enable proximity detection and complex gesture recognition by sensing reflected IR energy. For ambient light and color measurement, the module incorporates dedicated red, green, blue, and clear (RGBC) sensing channels, each equipped with UV and IR blocking filters and a 16-bit analog-to-digital converter.
This architecture allows for simultaneous, high-precision measurement of light intensity and chromaticity, enabling accurate calculation of illuminance and color temperature. The module is designed for reliable operation across an industrial temperature range from -30°C to 85°C, making it suitable for integration into various consumer electronics and industrial control systems.
