The sensor operates on a 10-30V DC supply, with 24V DC being the typical voltage used in industrial control panels. Ensure your power source is within this range and properly regulated for consistent performance.

The NPN output is a sinking type. Connect the brown wire to +V (10-30V DC), the blue wire to 0V (GND), and the black wire to your PLC's digital input. The PLC input common should be connected to the positive supply for proper sinking operation.

While capacitive sensors are primarily designed for non-metallic materials like plastics, liquids, and glass, they can detect metals if the sensitivity is adjusted appropriately. However, for reliable metal detection, an inductive proximity sensor is generally recommended.

A sensitivity adjustment potentiometer is located on the rear or side of the sensor housing. Use a small screwdriver to turn it clockwise to increase the sensing distance or counter-clockwise to decrease it, allowing you to fine-tune detection for specific materials or to avoid false triggers.

The M30 x 1.5mm metric thread is a standard size for industrial sensor mounting. It allows for secure installation through a panel or into a matching threaded bracket, providing a robust and vibration-resistant mechanical fixture in machinery.
