Pro-Range CCJ-A30-15ANA Capacitive Proximity Sensor, NPN Output, M30 Thread, 15mm Detection

This capacitive proximity sensor is designed to detect non-metallic objects, including plastics, glass, wood, ceramics, and liquids. It works by sensing changes in dielectric constant, making it unsuitable for detecting purely metallic targets, which are better served by inductive sensors.

The NPN output is an open-collector sinking output. The sensor's output wire (typically black) switches the load to ground (0V). The load (e.g., a PLC input or relay) must be connected between the positive supply voltage (brown wire) and the sensor's output wire. Always refer to the wiring diagram for correct connection of brown (+V), blue (0V/GND), and black (output) wires.

A sensitivity adjustment potentiometer is located on the rear of the sensor. Use a small screwdriver to turn the pot. Clockwise rotation typically increases sensitivity (and detection distance), while counter-clockwise rotation decreases it. Adjust with the target object present to set the desired switching point, ensuring reliable operation without false triggers from background objects.

With its IP67 protection rating and metal housing, this sensor is sealed against dust ingress and protected against temporary immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. It is suitable for damp industrial environments and washdown areas but is not designed for continuous submersion or prolonged exposure to direct high-pressure jets.
