OE-37 Hall Effect Two Channel Magnetic Encoder - Module w/ Mounting Hardware
The OE-37 is a two-channel Hall effect magnetic encoder module designed for precise rotary position and speed sensing in DC motor applications. It provides quadrature output compatible with microcontrollers, PLCs, and industrial counters for bidirectional motion control.
Features
- Two-channel Hall effect sensor delivers quadrature (A/B) output for direction and speed detection.
- Wide operating voltage range from 4.5V to 24V DC, suitable for 5V, 12V, and 24V industrial systems.
- Provides up to 7 counts per revolution (CPR) when counting all edges of both channels.
- Robust operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C for harsh industrial environments.
- Complete mounting kit includes plastic housing, magnet, connecting cable, and hardware.

The OE-37 encoder utilizes a Hall effect sensing principle to detect the rotation of a magnetic disk attached to a motor shaft. The integrated sensor generates two digital square wave outputs (Channels A and B) that are approximately 90 degrees out of phase, forming a quadrature signal. This output allows systems to determine both rotational speed from the pulse frequency and direction from the phase relationship.
Designed for durability, the module operates across an extended industrial temperature range and features a low-output leakage current. Its compact form factor and included mounting accessories simplify integration onto DC motors for conveyor systems, automated machinery, robotics, and speed feedback applications.
