KSD9700/BK05-BB1D Metallic Shell Temperature Control Switch 80°C NC - 10A 250V
The KSD9700/BK05-BB1D is a metallic-shell, snap-action thermal switch designed for over-temperature protection in electrical appliances and industrial equipment. It features a normally closed (NC) contact rated for 10A at 250VAC, opening at a calibrated 80°C set point to interrupt power and prevent damage.
Features
- Metallic shell construction for robust thermal conduction and durability.
- Normally Closed (NC) contact opens at a precise 80°C (±5°C) temperature threshold.
- High-current rating of 10A at 250VAC for direct control of heating elements or motors.
- Compact design with integrated 7cm lead wires for simplified installation.
- Bimetallic snap-action mechanism ensures reliable, repeatable switching.

The KSD9700/BK05-BB1D is a bimetallic disc thermal protector housed in a metallic shell for efficient heat transfer and mechanical strength. Its operation is based on the differential expansion of two bonded metals, which causes a snap-action at the calibrated temperature, instantly opening the circuit. This design provides a resettable, maintenance-free solution for over-temperature cutoff without requiring external power.
Ideal for integration into appliances, power supplies, transformers, and small motors, this switch acts as a primary safety device. The metallic housing ensures rapid response to ambient temperature changes, while the sealed construction protects the internal mechanism from dust and contaminants. After tripping, the contacts automatically reset once the temperature falls below the hysteresis point, typically 10-15°C below the set point.
