KSD302 Ceramic Temperature Controlled Switch Thermostat - Normally Closed (NC), 150°C, 250V 16A
The KSD302 is a ceramic-bodied, normally closed (NC) thermal switch designed for precise temperature control up to 150°C. Rated for 250V AC and 16A, it provides a reliable, snap-action mechanical cut-off for integration into heating elements, appliances, and industrial equipment.
Features
- Normally Closed (NC) snap-action switch opens at 150°C (±5°C typical)
- High-current 16A / 250V AC rating for direct load switching
- Durable ceramic housing for electrical insulation and thermal stability
- Fixed temperature setting for over-temperature protection circuits
- SPST mechanical design for simple series wiring with loads

The KSD302 is a bimetallic disc thermostat, where a temperature-sensitive metal disc snaps between two states at its calibrated setpoint. In its Normally Closed (NC) configuration, the switch remains closed, allowing current to flow, until the ambient temperature reaches 150°C. At this point, the disc deforms, mechanically opening the contacts to break the circuit, providing a fail-safe cut-off.
Constructed with a ceramic body, the switch offers excellent electrical isolation and high-temperature resistance, making it suitable for embedding in heating appliances, power supplies, motors, and other equipment requiring over-temperature protection. Its robust 16A rating allows it to switch significant loads directly without requiring an intermediate relay in many applications.
