The KSD9700/BK05-BB1D is a hermetically sealed, bimetallic disc thermostat. When the ambient temperature around its metallic shell reaches the calibrated set point of 65°C, the internal bimetallic disc snaps, mechanically opening the electrical contacts to break the circuit. This provides a fail-safe, normally open (NO) protection mechanism to prevent overheating in connected devices.
Its robust metallic housing ensures fast thermal response and durability in demanding environments. The switch is pre-calibrated at the factory and is not user-adjustable, guaranteeing consistent trip performance. With a rating of 5A at 250V, it can directly interrupt significant power loads in applications like transformers, motors, and heating elements without requiring an additional relay.
