KSD9700/BK05-BB1D Metallic Shell Temperature Control Switch - 45°C NC, 10A 250V
The KSD9700/BK05-BB1D is a metallic shell, snap-action temperature control switch rated for 10A at 250V AC, featuring a normally closed (NC) contact that opens at a calibrated 45°C setpoint. It provides reliable thermal protection for AC-powered appliances, power supplies, and industrial equipment.
Features
- 45°C Normally Closed (NC) Operation: Snap-action bimetallic disc opens the circuit at the preset temperature to prevent overheating.
- High-Current Capacity: Rated for 10 Amps at 250 Volts AC, suitable for direct control of motors, heaters, and transformers.
- Robust Metallic Housing: Durable shell ensures mechanical strength and effective thermal conductivity for accurate sensing.
- Fixed Temperature Setpoint: Pre-calibrated to trip at 45°C (±5°C typical), eliminating the need for user adjustment.
- SPST Switching: Single-pole, single-throw configuration for straightforward series connection in the hot line.

The KSD9700 series is a line of compact, hermetically sealed thermal switches utilizing a bimetallic snap-disc mechanism. When the ambient temperature surrounding the metallic shell reaches the calibrated trip point (45°C), the disc instantly snaps, physically opening the normally closed electrical contacts to break the circuit. This provides a fail-safe, non-resettable method of overtemperature protection.
Designed for integration into AC line-voltage applications, its 10A rating allows it to interrupt significant current directly without requiring an intermediate relay. The robust metal construction ensures long-term reliability and consistent thermal response, making it a fundamental safety component in power supplies, battery chargers, transformers, small appliances, and thermal management systems.
