Description
The HC-02 Bluetooth Serial Module is an industrial-grade wireless transceiver built on the mature Bluetooth v2.0 specification with Enhanced Data Rate (EDR). It implements the Serial Port Profile (SPP), creating a virtual serial cable over a 2.4GHz RF link, which simplifies wireless integration for developers. The module operates via a straightforward 3.3V TTL UART interface, requiring only power, ground, transmit, and receive connections to establish a bidirectional data stream with a host microcontroller.
Architecturally, the HC-02 supports two key operational modes: a default Data Mode for transparent serial communication and an AT Command Mode for configuring parameters like device name, baud rate, and pairing PIN. Switching between modes is managed via a dedicated KEY pin. With a maximum RF output power of 6dBm and a receiver sensitivity of -85dBm, it reliably covers typical indoor ranges up to 10 meters.
