eSUN eCopper filament is engineered from a standard Polylactic Acid (PLA) base, incorporating over 70% copper to deliver stunning metallic prints. Unlike typical metal-filled filaments, eSUN’s formulation prioritizes ease of use, making it as straightforward to print as standard PLA while providing a significant aesthetic upgrade. The higher density imparted by the copper content ensures that finished parts possess a substantial, authentic metal feel, adding to their realism and perceived value.

To achieve the best results, eSUN eCopper is best printed with a nozzle temperature between 200-220°C and a print bed heated to 40°C, ideally with a masking paper surface for optimal adhesion. For enhanced metallic shine, parts can be polished using traditional methods such as dry sanding (from rough to fine grits), followed by a soft cotton wheel and copper water. It is important to note that the metallic content can be abrasive; therefore, utilizing a stainless steel or titanium nozzle is highly recommended to prevent premature wear on standard brass nozzles.
