The Elecrow CROWTAIL Analog Grayscale Sensor 2.0 utilizes a photoresistor (LDR) to detect ambient light levels, converting the resistance change into a corresponding analog voltage signal. This analog output provides a continuous, high-resolution reading of light intensity, which can be directly sampled by a microcontroller’s ADC pin for precise environmental monitoring.
The module includes a potentiometer for setting a voltage threshold, enabling the onboard comparator to trigger a digital signal when light levels cross a user-defined point. This makes it suitable for automated lighting control, security systems, and robotics applications where a simple on/off response to light changes is required. Its CROWTAIL connector standard ensures quick, solderless integration with a wide range of prototyping platforms.
